Sunrise Session in the Hudson Valley, NY

Oh how much I wanted to do this sunrise session where it felt like the earth was empty and it would be just us and the water and mountains behind…and oh how I watch too much Dateline and was certain I was going to be murdered at an early hour before my clients arrived. Ah, risks and rewards. This one worked out.

I stumbled on this spot one day with our kids and just fell in love with the way the mountains in the back seemed to kiss along the water. How it felt like you were almost in the middle of nowhere. Or anywhere.

These clients took a not-so-close road trip at a very early hour to make this magic happen and I could not be more thankful. A 4am wake up with little ones is enough to make most people run…but not this crew. They live life off the beaten path. Are always searching for adventure. And sunrises. And little pieces of beauty. And if ever there were two little ones who could smile after an early waking and road trip, it’s this brother sister duo.
